Submission Phase Deadline Has Been Extended until 31 January 2016!

Responding to the requests of several stakeholders, the deadline for submitting your projects for the WSIS Prizes 2016 contest has been extended until 31st January 2016 (non-extendable).

The new WSIS Prizes 2016 Timeline is:

  • Phase I: 13 October – 31 January 2016
    Submission phase (Deadline for last submission: 23:00 Geneva time).

  • Phase II: 1 February – 5 February 2016
    Nomination Phase. Revision of submitted projects by Expert Group that will result with a list of nominated projects.

  • Phase III: 6 February 2016 – 10 March 2016
    Public Online Voting. Identification of three projects per category with the highest number of votes. (Deadline for casting last vote: 23:00 Geneva time)

  • Phase IV: 14 March – 18 March 2016
    Selection of winning projects by the Expert Group that will result with a list of winning projects.

  • Phase V: 2 May – 6 May 2016
    Announcement of winners to the public during WSIS Prize 2016 Ceremony at WSIS Forum 2016, and the release of publication “WSIS Stocktaking: Success Stories 2016”, which is a compilation of extended descriptions of the 18 winning projects.

We would like to thank all stakeholders who have already submitted their projects to the WSIS Prizes 2016, and we invite them to follow the results of the Nomination Phase and share links to their success stories within their networks. As previously informed, nominated projects, that were submitted by 5 December, will appear online on 11 December 2015 but will not be available for public voting until 6 February 2016 when all nominated projects will be available for the online voting.
