The WSIS Forum 2015 will be held in ITU and WIPO Headquarters in Geneva Switzerland. This event builds upon the tradition of annual WSIS May meetings, and its format is the result of open consultations with all WSIS Stakeholders. The WSIS Forum 2015 Open Consultation Process on the Thematic Aspects and Innovations on the Format aims at ensuring the participatory and inclusive spirit of the WSIS Forum 2015 by actively engaging governments, civil society, the private sector and intergovernmental organizations in the preparatory process. The Agenda and Programme of the WSIS Forum will be built on the basis of the official submissions received during the Open Consultation Process.

WSIS Stocktaking Report 2015
The annual WSIS Stocktaking report highlights over a thousand worldwide projects and initiatives aimed at implementation of the WSIS outcomes from the WSIS Stocktaking database. This report confirms that ICT development projects are helping countries make significant progress towards achieving the WSIS connectivity targets and MDGs by 2015. It bears witness to the scale of efforts made by numerous stakeholders, including governments, the private sector, civil society and international organizations, towards building the information society and bridging the digital divide, contributing to sustainable development.
ITU has been maintaining the WSIS Stocktaking Database as a publicly accessible system providing information on ICT-related initiatives and projects with reference to the 11 WSIS Action Lines (Geneva Plan of Action). As a result, it has become one of the biggest ICT for development (ICT4D) online platforms. The WSIS Project Prizes are part of WSIS Stocktaking Process represent a unique recognition for the excellence in the implementation of WSIS outcomes.
The call for update and new entries 2014-2015 was launched in September 2014. All Stakeholders were invited to submit entries online. Entries submitted to the WSIS Stocktaking Database will be reflected in the seventh edition of the WSIS Stocktaking Report, which will be released at WSIS Forum 2015 (25-29 May).
WSIS Project Prizes 2015
The WSIS Project Prizes were introduced as a response to requests expressed by WSIS stakeholders in 2011 to create a mechanism to evaluate and reward stakeholders for their efforts in the implementation of WSIS outcomes. The WSIS Project Prizes contest identifies and showcases success stories and models that can easily be replicated to empower communities at the local level. Prizes are awarded in 18 categories linked to the WSIS Action Lines outlined in the Geneva Plan of Action. The contest is open to all stakeholders.
