Dear WSIS Stakeholders,

Greetings from the WSIS Team! The WSIS Flash provides information and updates on the implementation of the WSIS outcomes. At a glance, it displays that though each of the components of the WSIS process have unique identities and functionalities of their own, they complement each other and draw linkages between all their activities.

This has been a very busy and productive time for several WSIS Stakeholders, successful meetings, conferences and events have taken place that have ensured the momentum of the WSIS process. The ECOSOC Resolution 2010/2 on “Assessment of the progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society” reiterated the importance of maintaining a process for coordinating the multi-stakeholder implementation of WSIS outcomes through effective tools, with the goal of exchanging of information among WSIS Action Line Facilitators; identification of issues that need improvements; and discussion of the modalities of reporting the overall implementation process.

We believe that WSIS Flash is an effective electronic communication tool that opens a window of opportunity, to take stock, report, network, learn and share. We welcome you to submit any relevant information that you would like to share with other WSIS Stakeholders.

We would like to thank all stakeholders for their encouragement and appreciation of the WSIS Flash. Please note that all issues of the WSIS Flash are archived at:

Best wishes, WSIS Team
