Since 2004, in response to § 120 of the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society, ITU has maintained the public WSIS stocktaking database as valuable tool for collecting information and regular reporting on WSIS-related activities.
Recently, the database was updated adding new features that allow stakeholders to use database in more efficient way and add value for projects and other WSIS related activities submitted to the WSIS Stocktaking.
The new application of the database has more options allowing users to add/attach documents (limited to one document that should not exceed more than 4 MB) and images (limited to one image that should not exceed more than 1 MB).
As the member of the WSIS Stocktaking Platform, you are able to access your account of projects/activities where you could track all recorded data and update/edit your existing WSIS related activities at any time. Once the entry is registered, it takes some time for the approval process. The users are supposed to receive the notification once the project is published.
The search functionality is available to registered and non-registered users where there is option to use quick or advanced search.
If you have problems or questions about the submission procedures, just e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating project ID.
On regular basis, the ITU Official Call for update and new entries is issued to invite stakeholders to contribute to the WSIS Stocktaking Process and its latest reporting. As the result of this exercise, regular reporting is issued on the occasion of WSIS Forum that usually takes place in May and later this reporting is submitted to Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD).
