Mr. Dewapura, CEO of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, highlighted the great improvement of Sri Lanka regarding ICTs during the launch of the National ICT Workforce Survey 2010 Report. In fact, the IT workforce has growth of almost 100% since 2006 to reach 60 000 peoples and for the next coming years 10 000 are expected each year. Then Mr. Dewapura pointed that the progress made by Sri Lanka has been recognized at the international level quoting the report from the World Economic Forum which says that Sri Lanka enjoyed the biggest improvement for NRI (Networked Readiness Index) and had the world’s fifth best development of ICT sector.
